Fox Fire Woods

This preserve is slated for closure by the end of 2024. See it while you can.

Fox Fire Woods is named for a mushroom that occurs here and glows faintly in the dark. Alas, the preserve closes at dusk. Eight acres with a nice long-stemmed lollipop trail through woods rich with oak, hickory, and maple. Healthy spring wildflower population, including mayapple, bloodroot, and toothwort.
