Great Marsh Trail

Natural Areas: Great Marsh Trail

Great Marsh Trail is well named. Its oft-soggy tread skirts and crosses large marshy areas. Expect wetland vegetation, birds, muskrats and, in warmer weather, mosquitoes. One of the best locations along the lakeshore to get immersed in a marsh ecosystem.

Porter County. From the intersection of U.S. 12 and IN 49, go east for 4.6 miles to Broadway, then left 0.2 mile to a parking area on the right. A second parking area is 0.2 mile further on.
