Color-coded trails at Hayes Arboretum center on a nature center. Start with the Blue Trail; it passes through old growth woods, with trees said to be up to 450 years old. The Yellow Trail passes a spring and a fern garden with more than 20 species of bryophytes. There are others, including a driving tour. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
Directions
Wayne County. From I-70 Exit 156, west 1.9 miles on US 40 to Elk Road, then north 0.5 miles to the entrance on the right.
