Drooping Trillium

Drooping trillium is typically smaller than large-flowered trillium; the flowers often (but don’t always) angle downward, and the petals overlap little if at all. There is an unusual reddish form. A very similar species, nodding trillium, is barely present in northern Indiana; published descriptions of the differences between the species are not always consistent.
