Hanging Rock

Vista from Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock is a coral reef remnant formed millions of years ago. The Wabash is slowly undercutting the rock, giving it the appearance of “hanging” over the river – hence the name. Climb the eighty or so feet to the top for outstanding views of the river and surrounding land.

Directions: Wabash County. From Old US 24 X IN 524 in Lagro, south and east 0.8 mile on IN 524. As IN 524 turns sharply south, continue east 0.7 mile on Hanging Rock Rd to PL on L. No facilities.
