Hanging Rock is a coral reef remnant formed millions of years ago. The Wabash is slowly undercutting the rock, giving it the appearance of “hanging” over the river – hence the name. Climb the eighty or so feet to the top for outstanding views of the river and surrounding land.


Directions


Wabash County. From the intersection of Old US 24 and IN 524 in Lagro, go south and east for 0.8 mile on IN 524. As IN 524 turns sharply south, continue east 0.7 mile on Hanging Rock Road to a parking lot on the left.
