The Whitewater Interlobate Area ecoregion has distinctive cool water, coarsebottomed streams that are perennial and fed by abundant ground water. Resident fish include the redside dace, northern stud fish, and banded sculpin occur, along with unique Ozarkian invertebrates. Source: US EPA
